Os 14 voluntários trabalham com crianças desde 1997 na cidade de São Simão
A Ogawa Butoh Center é uma ONG (Organização Não Governamental) que usa a dança folclórica como atrativo para prestar assistência social a 150 crianças e adolescentes carentes e suas famílias, num trabalho que mobiliza 14 voluntários desde 1997. A sede da entidade fica em São Simão, pequena cidade da região de Ribeirão Preto.
DANCE FOLKLORIC AID CHILD
The Ogawa Butoh Center is ONG (Not Governamental Organization) that it uses the folkloric dance as attractive to give to social assistance the 150 devoid children and adolescents and its families, in a work that mobilizes 14 volunteers since 1997. The headquarters of the entity are in São Simão, small city of the region of Ribeirão Preto.
João Roberto de Souza, seu fundador e presidente, é professor e coreógrafo do Grupo de Danças Folclóricas "Zilda Pereira Portugal", que reúne 60 crianças e faz apresentações em cidades da região. "A dança é apenas um pretexto para trazer as crianças e suas famílias para a ONG onde fazemos um trabalho social que vai desde a doação de cestas básicas e roupas até a conscientização social", diz Souza. Freqüentar escola é pré-requisito para participar do grupo. A exigência colaborou com a diminuição da evasão escolar em São Simão.
As aulas de dança folclórica são ministradas três vezes por semana no salão da Capela São Benedito, no Jardim dos Imigrantes, onde moram as crianças que participam do projeto. Além das aulas há reuniões semanais com as famílias dos menores assistidos. Os pais participam da diretoria do grupo, auxiliam na confecção de figurinos e cenários para os espetáculos e têm voz ativa nas decisões. "Dessa forma trabalhamos fatores importantes para a construção da cidadania, como o senso de responsabilidade e sua importância dentro da sociedade", enfatiza Souza.
No Ano Internacional do Voluntariado, a Ogawa Butoh Center orgulha-se de manter seu trabalho apenas com doações. "Não recebemos dinheiro, quando alguém ou alguma entidade quer colaborar o faz faz com doações de alimentos ou roupas", diz o presidente da entidade. "Durante os quatro anos em que trabalhamos com a questão social de São Simão, pudemos acompanhar a sensível melhora da sociedade local como um todo. Há muitos casos de recuperação de crianças e adolescentes que viviam nas ruas e hoje vislumbram um futuro mais promissor - cada caso é um capítulo da nossa história", finaliza Souza.

"the dance is only one excuse to bring the children and its families for the ONG where we make a social work that goes since the donation of basic baskets and clothes until the social awareness", say Souza. To frequent school is prerequisite to participate of the group. The requirement collaborated with the reduction of the pertaining to school evasion in Is Simão. The lessons of folclórica dance are given three times per week in the hall of the Chapel San Benedict, in the Garden of the Immigrants district, where the children live who participate of the project. Beyond the lessons it has weekly meetings with the families of the attended minors. The parents participate of the direction of the group, assist in the confection of costumes and scenes for the spectacles and have active voice in the decisions. "Of this form we work important factors for the construction of the citizenship, as the responsibility sense and its importance inside of the society", emphasizes Souza.
In the International Year of the Voluntary, the Ogawa Butoh Center is proud to keep its work only with donations. "we do not receive money, when somebody or some entity wants to collaborate makes it makes with donations of foods or clothes", the president of the entity says. "During the four years where we work with the social matter of they São Simão, we could follow the sensible improvement of the local society as a whole. It has many cases of recovery of children and adolescents who lived today in the streets and glimpse a more promising future - each in case that it is a chapter of our history ", finishes Souza.
